Petra motto was Never surrender! She fought for eleven years against Lymphoma. Whelped Dec 13, 2008, sadly passed away March 24, 2020 -owners Giulio Antoniol and Licia Tezzele. In January 2009, I met Petra (Emma von der Linde) for the first time. It was love at first sight. Not sure if on my side but for sure she fell in love with me. I had a dog around since I was in the cradle, but Petra was my first hunting dog. When Ralph Bothe told me “You have to bring her to NAVHDA NA testing” my answer was OK. I didn’t realize what I was doing and/or that I was embarking on e new journey. 18 years after the only thing I can say is: thanks Petra for all you did for us.
She saved my life. At the time I was a University Professor, a researcher, and a teacher; I was fully committed to my job. Fishing and outdoor, though the reasons I moved to Canada were quite behind the rest. Petra took the lead and the rest is quite a story.
Indeed, Petra soon realized she had a heck of a job. Yes, good family, but no hunting experience; fishing ok but hunting was a problem. She had to train us. We thought we were training her. Not quite so, she was training us. She arrived home beginning of April 2009. In May, I spoke to Ralph, he asked me: how does it go? Answer: Petra is stubborn, but, I’m even more stubborn. He laughed and replied: then you are the perfect match. Summer went fast. Fall arrived. Prime Petra time, the smells, and the hunting opportunities nothing better exists!
